Kiki Worku, a 6’0 forward from Lower Merion, becomes the 4th Comets player to
make her college decision for 2010. Kiki
will attend Dowling College in New
York on a basketball scholarship. She will play for Coach Joe Pellicane, father of her current head coach at Lower Merion
Lauren Pellicane.
Kiki led Lower Merion to a record 26
wins in 2009, an undefeated Central League regular season and Central League
championship, as well as an “Elite 8” appearance in the PIAA state
tournament. Kiki played only 1 year with
the Comets but it was a very successful year.

Marikate Gardler,
a 5’11 guard from Cardinal O’Hara, becomes the 3rd Comets player to
make her college decision for the class of 2011! MK has given a verbal to St. Joseph’s University of the Atlantic 10
Conference. She was the 6th
player for O’Hara as a sophomore on a team that won the prestigious Nike
Tournament in Phoenix
and graduated 4 Division 1 players in 2009.
She helped her Comets team to a 6th place finish at AAU
Nationals this summer, as well as 2nd place finish
at USA Invitational. The team of mostly 15s playing
up in age 16s also was impressive team at Boo Williams elite division and USJN
nationals. Marikate
has been with the Comets since the age of 13.

Erin Shields, a 5’6 guard from Archbishop Carroll
High School, became the
1st Comets player to make her college decision for 2010. Erin has verballed to St. Josephs’ University of the
Atlantic 10 Conference. Erin averaged 12 pts and 5 rebounds for
Carroll this past season leading her team to 3A State Title and Philadelphia
Catholic League Championship and a Top 10 National ranking. Erin
was named 2nd team All –State, 1st team All – Catholic
League, 1st team All Delco, 1st team All Main Line and 2nd
team All Southeastern PA. She was also named AAU All-American as the
Comets placed 6th at AAU 16U Nationals in 2009. Erin has
played with the Comets since the age of 9.

Natasha Cloud, 6’0 guard from Cardinal O’Hara, has given
verbal to University
of Maryland of the ACC in
2010. She helped win Catholic League Championship in
2008 and District Title in 2009. She was
named 3rd team All – State, 1st team
All – Catholic, 1st team All Delco, 1st Team All Delaware County
and 2nd team All Southeastern PA. Tash was named a Sporting News Honorable Mention All
American for 2 years and also listed on Hoopgurlz.com top
100 players for 2010 class. She has led
her Comets team to a 6th place AAU Nationals finish in 2009. Tash started with
the Comets at age 10, she then played AAU for Lower Delco
from 11 to 15 before returning to Comets for her final AAU season. She led her Lower Delco
to 2 straight Top 16 finishes at Nationals.
