Breanna Ockimey, a 5’9 guard/forward from Notre Dame Academy, becomes the 11th Comets player to announce her college choice.  Breanna has given a verbal commitment to play basketball at Emmanuel College in Boston, Mass.  Breanna is a 3 yr starter at the small forward position for NDA on the basketball court.     She averaged 10pt and 6 rebounds for NDA this past season, leading the team to a record 32-8 and Independent League Championship and 2nd place in Inter Ac League. She has been named All-Delco, All Main Line, All Main Line Life and All-Inter Ac all star.

Breanna has been with the Comets since the age of 13. Congratulations to Breanna and the Ockimey family.

 

Becky Burke, a 5’11 forward from Abington Heights High School, becomes the 1st Comets player to make her college decision.  Becky has verbally committed to the South Carolina of SEC conference.  Becky averaged 21 pts and 8 rebounds for Abington Heights (23 – 5) leading her team to the League Championship and 4A state tournament.

She has scored over 1200 pts in 3 seasons at Abington Heights.

Becky was also 1st team All – State, 1st team All – League.  Becky has played with the Comets since the age of 14.  We congratulate Becky and the Burke family.

 

Megan Pearson, 6’0 guard/forward from Archbishop Carroll High School, has made a verbal commitment to attend Villanova University.   Megan chose Villanova over other scholarship offers from LaSalle and Holy Cross.  Megan completed her junior season at Carroll where she averaged 11ppg and 6 rebounds per game.  She was named 1st team All – Catholic, 1st team All Delco, 1st Team All Main Line.  Archbishop Carroll finished the season with 20 – 7 record, winning the Catholic League Championship.  Meg was also name MVP of the Catholic League in volleyball.  Megan has been with the Comets since she was 10 yrs old.  Congratulations to Megan and the Pearson family.

 

Katie Kuester, 5’10 forward from Notre Dame Academy, becomes the 3rd Comets 16U player to make her college choice.  Katie will be taking her basketball talents to St. Joseph’s University.  She chose the Hawks over scholarship offers from  Delaware, LaSalle, UNC and Drexel.  Katie led her team to a 28 – 3 record and was named 2nd team All Delco, 1st team All Inter AC, 1st team All Main Line and averaged 12 ppg and 4 assts this past season at Notre Dame Academy.  She was named MVP of the Billy Lake tournament,  and named All Tournament at the Rock Holiday Classic Tournament in Florida.  Katie has played for the Comets since she was 10 yrs.  Congratulations to Katie and the Kuester family.

 

Michelle Baker, a 5’9 guard from Brandywine High School in Delaware, becomes the 4th Comets player to make her college decision.  Michelle has verbally committed to the St. Joseph’s University of the Atlantic Ten conference.  She chose the Hawks over UMASS, Hartford, Boston U, and American University.  She  averaged 24 pts and 10 rebounds for Brandywine High School and was named 1st team All – State in Delaware the last 2 seasons.  Michelle has played with the Comets since the age of 15. We congratulate Michelle and her family, Dawn and John.

 

Missy Downey, a 5’7 guard from Cardinal O’Hara High School, becomes the 5th Comets player to announce her college choice.  Missy has given a verbal commitment to Lafayette College of the Patriot League.  Missy will a 2 yr starter at the point guard position for O’Hara on the basketball court, and also a 1st team All Catholic player in soccer.  She is ranked top 10 in her class at O’Hara and plans to major in pre med. 

Missy has been with the Comets since the age of 10. Congratulations to Missy and the Downey family.

 

 

 

 

Sarah Homan, a 6’3 forward from Delco Christian Academy, becomes the 6th Comets player to announce her college choice.  Sarah has given a very commitment to Rider University of the MAAC conference.  Sarah is a 4 yr starter at Delco Christian where she led her team to the PIAA AA playoffs this past year.    Sarah received 1st team all league honors as well as 3rd team  All Delco. She averaged 15 pts, 10 rebounds, and 5 blocks a game.  Sarah has played for Comets since 14.  Congratulations to Sarah and her family.

 

Laura Johnson, a 5’9 guard from Mt. St . Joseph’s Academy, becomes the 7th Comets player to announce her college choice.  Laura will be taking her academic and basketball talents to the highly acclaimed IVY league  Princeton University.  Laura is a  four year starter at Mt. St. Joseph’s where she led her team to the District 1 championship as well as Final 8 of the PIAA state tournament.  She received 1st team All Catholic Academy as well as 1st team all Montgomery County.  She averaged 13 pts and 6 assists.  Laura has been a Comet since the age of 13.  Congratulations to Laura and her family.

 

Elena DelleDonne, a 6’4 1st team All American from Ursuline Academy, becomes the 8th Comets player to announce her college decision.  Elena will take her enormous basketball talents to UCONN, one of the premier womens basketball programs in the country. 

Elena has been a concensus 1st team high school All – American for 3 years.  We were fortunate to have her play for the Comets for just one season.  We congratulate Elena and her family.

 

Nanja Prescott, a 6’1 forward from Cardinal Dougherty High School, becomes the 9th Comets player to announce her college decision.  Nanja has given a verbal commitment to attend St. Francis University of the Northeast Conference.  Nanja averaged 12 pts and 8 rebounds a game for her high school.  She received All Catholic honors as a junior.  Nanja played for the Comets for 2 years.  Congratulations to Nanja and her family.

 

Bri Winston, a 6’0 guard/forward from Harriton High School, becomes the 10th Comets player to announce her college choice.  Bri has given a verbal commitment to Hartford University of the American East Conference. She will play for former UCONN great Jen Rizzoti.  Bri is a 4 year starter for Harriton and 1st team all league performer. 

Bri  played only one year of AAU basketball, that being this year with the Comets. Congratulations to Bri and her family.
